This scientific article presents an approach to crowdfunding as a financing option for entrepreneurs. Through a documentary review, key factors for the success of crowdfunding campaigns, the benefits and challenges for entrepreneurs, and the legal and regulatory aspects in Colombia are addressed. Key factors such as the quality of the presentation, communication with potential investors, and the building of a committed community are identified. Benefits include access to investors, early market validation, and valuable feedback, but the challenges of competition and meeting expectations are also noted. In Colombia, Decree 1357 of 2018 and Decree 1235 of 2020 are highlighted as regulatory frameworks. Different crowdfunding modalities are distinguished, and compliance with tax regulations and data protection is emphasized. In conclusion, crowdfunding is a promising financial option for entrepreneurs, but it requires strategy and knowledge of key factors. Additionally, understanding the benefits and challenges, as well as complying with the specific legal and regulatory aspects of each country.
