En el presente artículo se analiza el impacto de las tecnologías digitales en los desafíos que enfrenta el estudiantado universitario en el siglo XXI, desde una perspectiva argumentativa y con sustento en la producción académica reciente. Se realizó un análisis bibliométrico de estudios publicados entre 2019 y 2022 en bases de datos como Scopus, Web of Science y SciELO; se identificaron tendencias, autores clave y vacíos en la literatura. Los resultados evidencian un crecimiento exponencial de investigaciones sobre competencias digitales, educación híbrida y bienestar estudiantil, aunque con escaso enfoque en desigualdades estructurales. Se concluye que, pese al avance tecnológico acelerado, persisten desafíos pedagógicos y éticos que requieren marcos teóricos más críticos y políticas institucionales centradas en la equidad.
