El trabajo de investigación realizado sobre la práctica del sexting en Cuba se inicia con el desarrollo de  un estudio exploratorio sobre este fenómeno que es cada vez más visible a partir del creciente número de personas que acceden a las redes sociales de Internet. Posterior al estudio exploratorio se aplicó un cuestionario en línea y se compartió el enlace de acceso en grupos de WhatsApp, Facebook y Telegram. El  procesamiento de la información recopilada, a través de la muestra seleccionada y de la sistematicidad con que se realizan y las valoraciones que sobre ella coexisten,  dio como resultado la prevalencia de la práctica del sexting. En atención a la triangulación realizada, se examinaron coincidencias y diferencias con respecto a otros contextos, se identificaron futuras líneas y limitaciones y se establecieron tendencias dentro de la muestra estudiada.
