To adequately address the topic of home automation, it is necessary to focus on the concept, how it has evolved through the years and in the beginning of the applications that led to a place between informatics, electronics, robotics and telecommunications, to provide comfort and a series of automated and “smart” processes that improve the quality of human life. Being the main actor of these processes of home automation (which in many cases are the simplification of housework) is important to note that there is a commitment to the environment, with the appropriate use of natural resources and the possible reuse of some of them such as in the currently named sustainable houses.
